Use Cases Design Guide

A SaaS use-case page connects a product to a particular job, audience, or situation. It should explain how a workflow changes and which capabilities support it, rather than simply replacing a homepage headline with an industry name.

Choose a meaningful organizing principle

A use case can be a task, role, or operational situation. Keep the page's organizing idea clear so visitors understand why its examples belong together.

Artboard Studio Use Cases โ€” audience-specific use cases and example outputs
Artboard Studio Use Cases: audience-specific use cases and example outputs. View the SaaSFrame reference.

The Artboard Studio reference groups applications around audiences such as freelance designers, agencies, packaging designers, and social marketers. Each section pairs a role with example visual work.

This makes relevance recognizable through outputs. The page should still explain the actual task and product mechanism, rather than assuming a visitor sees their role and immediately understands the fit.

Describe the starting problem concretely

Name the work users are trying to complete and the constraint that makes it difficult. Avoid a broad statement that every team needs more efficiency.

Explain the product's contribution step by step where useful. A feature list supports the story only when it connects to the workflow.

Keep conditions and dependencies visible. A use case may require data, an integration, or another role's participation.

Give a focused role room for detail

Cafรฉ Use Cases โ€” finance use case and space-policy mechanisms
Cafรฉ Use Cases: finance use case and space-policy mechanisms. View the SaaSFrame reference.

The Cafรฉ reference focuses on finance-related concerns and connects product views to space usage, location policy, tool integration, and employee-related context. Adjacent audience routes appear later.

A focused page can explain why the same product matters differently to one role. Preserve the boundary between the role's objective and a guaranteed result.

Product images illustrate mechanisms; they do not independently prove reduced costs or improved retention. Claims of measured outcomes need appropriate evidence and context.

Distinguish use-case and feature narratives

A feature page starts with what the product can do. A use-case page starts with what the visitor needs to accomplish and selects relevant capabilities.

That difference should shape section order and copy. Do not duplicate the feature inventory with a role-specific heading and call it a new argument.

Link to feature detail or documentation when a visitor needs implementation depth after understanding the fit.

Use proof that matches the situation

Choose a customer story, example, or attributed experience relevant to the task. Familiar logos alone may not establish similarity.

Explain what the proof concerns and preserve limitations. Another customer's result should not be presented as a universal outcome.

If only illustrative examples exist, identify them as examples rather than inventing a customer narrative.

Make the next step fit the workflow

A visitor may need a template, trial, integration guide, or tailored conversation. Choose the route that begins the described task rather than a generic action unrelated to the page.

Explain prerequisites before the visitor encounters them during signup. Preserve use-case context through the next destination where appropriate.

Review the problem, mechanism, proof, and CTA as one argument. Each should support the same audience and task.

Compare task-led pages with SaaSFrame

Use SaaSFrame's use-case references to study broad audience directories and focused role narratives. Build a page that helps visitors recognize their work and assess the product's contribution.

Use-case page questions

Is a use case the same as a feature?

No. A use case begins with a user's job or situation; a feature explains a capability.

Should every audience get a separate page?

Only when its workflow and evaluation questions justify a distinct explanation.

What should product images support?

Show the mechanism relevant to the task. Do not treat example screens as proof of business outcomes.
