Podcast Pages Design Guide

A SaaS podcast page helps visitors understand a show's subject, choose an episode, and listen through a preferred route. Its design should make the editorial offer useful independently of the product's broader marketing message.

Introduce the show as a content offer

Name the recurring subject and intended audience. A visitor should know why listening is relevant before encountering a long episode archive.

The Bubble reference introduces The No-Code Hustle, then presents episodes with guest context, summaries, images, and detail actions. Listening-platform links appear below the archive.

That structure supports selection by topic or guest. Keep descriptions concrete enough to distinguish episodes rather than repeating the same show introduction under every card.

Explain the time commitment

Episode length and publication context help visitors decide whether to listen now. Use accurate metadata and keep live or recorded availability clear when relevant.

A media preview can indicate format, but a thumbnail alone rarely explains the discussion. Pair it with text that names the episode's question or perspective.

Avoid promising a specific professional outcome from listening. Describe the content rather than a guaranteed result.

Connect the archive to playback

Segment Podcast Page โ€” persistent podcast player

The Segment reference presents the Fixed That For You show with subscription-platform routes, episode rows, play controls, and a persistent player at the bottom.

This can connect browsing and listening on the same surface. The active episode should remain identifiable, and playback controls should be usable without relying on an icon's appearance alone.

A screenshot establishes the visible player structure, not whether playback continues correctly through navigation. Test that behavior in the implementation.

Provide distinct listening choices

On-page playback and an external podcast platform serve different preferences. Label destinations clearly and preserve recognizable show identity across the handoff.

If an episode also has a video version, distinguish formats rather than making every media action appear equivalent. The listener may care about background audio or visual demonstration.

Keep player failure recoverable through another available route. An unavailable embed should not make the episode's description disappear.

Support discovery as the archive grows

Use search, topic groups, or a consistent sequence when the inventory becomes large. Featured episodes can orient newcomers, while the full archive supports a specific lookup.

Preserve position when users return from episode detail. Avoid making them scroll from the beginning after every selection.

Related episodes should answer a useful next question, not merely fill a fixed row with random content.

Keep product promotion relevant

A product CTA can remain available after a relevant discussion or at the end of the page. It should not obscure playback or interrupt every episode description.

Guest-recommendation or episode-update forms are separate actions from product signup. Their labels should describe the actual commitment.

Review show introduction, episode detail, playback, and platform links together. A visitor should be able to choose and begin an episode with confidence.

Podcast page questions

Does every page need an on-site player?

No. Clear external listening routes can work, but visitors still need useful episode context.

What should distinguish episode cards?

Identify the topic, guest or perspective, and relevant timing or duration. A repeated show description is insufficient.

Where should a product CTA appear?

Keep it secondary to discovery and playback, with relevance to the content being offered.
